Our Love A Local Business grant competition judge, small business mentor and consultant Rhonda Abrams, had a tough assignment to determine which of the three in the most recent Finalists should have their $25,000 Intuit Hiring Grant doubled to $50,000. The Finalists, Buss Fitness of Northfield, Ohio, Todali Tackle of Philpot, Kentucky and PEP Club Sports of Parker, Colorado, are all women-owned businesses, and all are growing despite the tough economy.

In September, thousands of fans voted for their favorite businesses to win small business grants on Ellechor Publishing House, a new publisher of Christian fiction and non-fiction literature based in Beaverton, Oregon, is the local business that was randomly selected to win a $5,000 grant. They also now join Booksmart of Morgan Hill, CA, and JWG Photography of Austin, TX, as Finalists who may win the additional Grand Prize that increases their grant to $30,000.
