Intuit Wish Holds the Key to Success for Local Locksmith

For Anna Fouts, the thought of becoming a locksmith never entered her mind — at least not until she was offered an opportunity to become one.

Having developed an unfortunate habit of locking herself out of her home and office, Anna became well acquainted over the years with Wayne Barber, a beloved locksmith of 40 years in the Arlington, Washington community.

“He was the most wonderful, patient, loving teacher and friend anyone could ever ask for,” Anna remembers of her mentor in a touching written tribute. “When Wayne discovered he had lung cancer he offered to teach me his trade.”

By her own admission, however, Fouts wasn’t exactly sure what to think of the opportunity Barber had offered.  But the chance to help others and carry on Barber’s work was enough to compel her to accept the responsibility and continue the business as Anna’s Lock and Key.

“I feel like so many people are getting ripped off by scammers out there,” she says of her industry. “He [Barber] explained that there are always people in need of locksmiths and there are people who will always take advantage of those situations, and he knew in his heart I would always be fair and honest.”

In order to continue serving the loyal customers that Barber attracted and retained over the years, Fouts recently entered a long-held wish into the Small Business Big Wishes campaign from Intuit.

“I wish I could afford the equipment needed to make car keys,” she expressed in her wish entry. “I have to turn away more than 10 customers a week, every week, because I do not have the necessary equipment. I love being a locksmith and helping people. I also go out of my way to refer those lost customers to other businesses, but every customer I turn away is also a future customer lost, which restricts my company’s growth.”

Auspiciously for Fouts, the solution to her company’s most pressing concern will finally be unlocked. Intuit has selected her wish to be granted.

“This is unbelievable,” she says. “I have been trying for so long since Wayne passed away to try to get together enough money to do car keys… I will definitely be able to help more people now.”

Good positive story. We all know the purpose of keys and locks that allow people who have authorized access and keep out those who are unauthorized. The art of opening, breaking and repairing of locks is carried out by locksmiths as they have skills and tools to do it. However, these days new breed of security locks are out there for homes, offices and cars hence it’s important to choose the one like http://www.metronyclocksmith.com/ that has the capability and knowledge of these new security locking system to handle them quite easily. As you have become the expert in this field, no doubt your popularity will get increase day by day.

Great post! As a fellow Locksmith I truly understand the disappointment of not being able to help a customer. I am very happy that it all worked out.
